You are invited to sign up for a Lunch and Learn with Dave Liu, who is now a filmmaker who has produced Oscar®-qualified and Sundance award-winning films, after having a 25-year career as an investment banker. He is also an entrepreneur who has started multiple companies, an advisor who has raised over $15 billion for hundreds of companies, a best-selling author and cartoonist, and an investor in multiple companies that have achieved billion-dollar valuations.
Dave will be speaking about his recent film and production projects, as well as his book, The Way of the Wall Street Warrior, a humorous and irreverent guide to conquering the investment banking game from a Wall Street veteran who went from the proverbial janitor suite to Managing Director at one of the top investment banks in the world.
His talk comes from Dave’s experience as a 25-year investment banking veteran who did the unthinkable. He, an Asian American born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, rose up in the white, male-dominated world of high finance, becoming a Managing Director before age 33.
Dave then left his high-profile, high-paying job in his early 40s, on his terms, while on top. Walking away from a lucrative job at a prestigous firm was like resigning from the Mafia, but he did it anyway to save his life, family, and sanity.
While his lessons were learned on Wall Street, they apply to anyone, anywhere working in any competitive corporate environment. If you can make it in the Machiavellian world of banking, you can make it anywhere. Wall Street is a jungle; the toughest jungle there is. Dave had a highly successful career because he learned how to game the system, and this book will teach you some of his tricks and avoid making the same mistakes as your peers.
