Digital Marketing &
PR for start-ups
using social media
Sometimes it's not enough to build a great product. Spreading the word about it, can be even more challenging than creating the product itself. So how do you get attention for your start-up or your business? Chicago Tribune business columnist Melissa Harris will walk us through how to pitch your start-up to the press and how to promote your brand and work on social media.
Melissa Harris is a business columnist at The Chicago Tribune, which she joined in 2009 after nearly five years as a criminal justice reporter at The Baltimore Sun. Her work has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in local reporting, and she is a two-time finalist for the Livingston Award, honoring outstanding reporting by journalists younger than 35. A graduate of Northwestern and Johns Hopkins universities, she is working toward an MBA at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. She loves the arts and is a board member at Chicago Dramatists, a local theater that incubates new plays and teaches playwriting.
