Details

Navigating the Grey ("NTG") is an annual student-led ethics conference at Chicago Booth, born out of the Great Recession in recognition of our responsibilities as future leaders. Every year, we invite prominent representatives of the private and social sectors so that they can share with us pivotal moments in their lives, and the principles which underline their ability to lead with integrity and impact.

Our goal is to inspire audience members to define their own compass of values, and think consciously about how we will live out those values in the face of inevitable "grey areas" in our personal and professional lives. How will we not just survive these grey areas, but thrive in them?

Harry M. Jansen Kraemer, Jr. is an executive partner with Madison Dearborn Partners, a private equity firm based in Chicago, Illinois and a Clinical Professor of Leadership at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is the former chairman and chief executive officer of Baxter International Inc., a $12 billion global healthcare company.

Harry has been named Kellogg School Professor of the Year for the Fulltime MBA program as well as for the Executive MBA programs in Chicago, Miami, and Hong Kong. Harry's Kellogg classes include:

  • Values-Based Leadership,
  • Leading a Global Company,
  • Corporate Governance
  • Mergers & Acquisitions.

Harry is the author of four bestselling leadership books:

Harry is also a regular contributing author for "Forbes".
