Navigating the Grey ("NTG") is an annual student-led ethics conference at Chicago Booth, born out of the Great Recession in recognition of our responsibilities as future leaders. Every year, we invite prominent representatives of the private and social sectors so that they can share with us pivotal moments in their lives, and the principles which underline their ability to lead with integrity and impact. This year's conference theme is 'Enduring Foundations: Thriving in Times of Uncertainty to create more positive social impact in our lives, careers and communities.

Our goal is to inspire audience members to define their own compass of values, and think consciously about how we will live out those values in the face of inevitable "grey areas" in our personal and professional lives. How will we not just survive these grey areas, but thrive in them?

Our speaker, Robin John, is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eventide, a $5B Boston-based investment advisor. Eventide strives to honor God and serve its clients by investing in companies that create compelling value for the global common good, which the company refers to as "investing that makes the world rejoice®." He is responsible for the overall leadership of the organization, including strategy and growth, aligning team culture with mission and values, and the general operations of the company. Under his leadership, the firm has grown into a leader in values-based investing.

Prior to founding Eventide, Mr. John held leadership roles for Bank of New York Mellon. He also served as a business consultant for Grant Thornton. He has a degree in Economics from Tufts University.

Robin and his wife Jaunita co-founded Dil Se Foundation and, through the work of the foundation, founded Darsha Academy, a girl's school in Southern India. The school is committed to educating and empowering young women so that they can pursue career opportunities in the fields of science and fulfill their maximum potential.

If you've ever wondered what it takes to build a billion dollar values-based business from the ground up, how investing for the public good shakes out in the real world, and are genuinely curious about what how faith can intersect with work, we look forward to having you!
