The Adam Smith Society (SmithSoc) at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is a student-run organization that operates in conjunction with the national Adam Smith Society, a project of the Manhattan Institute. The group invites noted business luminaries to Chicago Booth’s campus to speak on a variety of topics regarding entrepreneurship, free-market economics, and other relevant topics of interest to the Booth community. Additionally, members of the Adam Smith Society receive exclusive invitations to intimate dinner events with speakers and also drive the direction of speakers who are invited to campus. There are multiple chapters of the Adam Smith Society across the United States at other prestigious universities and the Society offers a strong network of current and future business leaders to help inspire Booth students to achieve their potential within the business world.

The African American MBA Association provides a forum for interaction between students of African descent at Chicago Booth with the school community, corporate partners, and the city of Chicago. The goals of the organization are three-fold: Meet the educational and career needs of the African and African American MBA student body; Facilitate community among African and African American students in other graduate programs; Serve the needs of the African American community within Hyde Park and the city of Chicago.

The Armed Forces Group at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is a student-run organization open to both current and former members of the US and international armed services. Our membership includes students in the Full-Time MBA program. The group's purpose is to prepare students for the recruiting process through career coaching, resume workshops, and interview preparation; Build a strong professional network of Booth alumni with previous military experience in order to expand career opportunities; Welcome new members and their families to the Chicago area through a variety of social activities; Assist prospective military candidates with the Booth application process and advocate the admission of qualified veterans; and Assist students departing the armed forces with the transition to civilian life and to ensure an understanding of veteran benefits.

AudioBooth is a group for music lovers and music makers, alike. We represent students who can sing, play an instrument, have an interest in singing or playing an instrument, or who just enjoy listening to music. Activities include performances at Liquidity Preference Functions (LPFs) and Follies; the use of a rehearsal and recording space in downtown Chicago; and social outings to check out the local music scene. The mission of Booth Africa is to build a close-knit community for the growing number of Chicago Booth students who have a strong interest in issues, events, and activities related to Africa. We welcome students from all nationalities and backgrounds. Our objectives are as follows: To promote and expose business opportunities in Africa to the Chicago Booth community; To provide a forum for professional networking among Chicago Booth students and alumni with an interest and/or experience in African development; To promote awareness of African culture and heritage at Chicago Booth; To attract African students to Chicago Booth through outreach efforts; and To support group members in achieving success both at Chicago Booth and in all future endeavors

We host the ever-popular Africa trek which takes place during Spring Break every year. Previous trips have been to Ghana, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania. The Chicago Booth Basketball Club represents an opportunity for players of all skill levels and backgrounds to enjoy the game of basketball in a friendly, yet competitive environment. Our mission is to promote bonding among Booth students who are interested in playing basketball. We host open gym times for players of all skill levels, and offer several travel opportunities to play against other top MBA programs across the country for our more competitive members.

All group members will receive a free customized Chicago Booth basketball jersey with their preferred size and number, regardless of participation level!

For our more active members, we offer great opportunities to showcase your skills, including the annual Running With The Bulls game against Kellogg played in front of thousands at the United Center before a Chicago Bulls game in February. We also play a full college-length game against Kellogg in May, which will be hosted at home in the Ratner Athletic Center in Hyde Park this year.

For those seeking a higher level of competition, we offer travel opportunities to play against other top MBA programs across the country. This year, we plan on attending the Harvard MBA tournament in Boston in November, the Georgetown MBA tournament in Washington, DC in February, and the USC MBA tournament in Las Vegas in March.

And for those that just enjoy watching basketball, we'd still love to you have you join our club! We plan on hosting various social events throughout the year, including a March Madness viewing party and a hosting a group attending a Chicago Bulls game, among other events.

The Chicago Booth Boxing Club is for those students interested in the sport of boxing. We welcome everyone to come check us out, from beginners to Golden Gloves. The Club’s mission is two-fold:
1. Athletic Club – Boxing is an intense, effective, and safe fitness opportunity. The club will offer both experienced boxers and beginners a fun and challenging boxing training regimen set forth by the club’s co-chairs and members

The Booth Outdoor Leadership Development (BOLD) Group provides experiential leadership development opportunities primarily through outdoor adventure activities. Our goal is to develop outstanding executives by providing opportunities for students to apply techniques learned indoors to outdoors contexts, to build both internal and external resilience. Using action-based learning and outdoors adventure trips, we help students hone their leadership abilities through unique activities that allow them to practice and develop skills such as interpersonal communication, teamwork, influencing, and motivation techniques. Moreover, these activities get students out of their comfort zone in where their decisions have real consequences, in a unique, supportive learning environment.

-host classroom-based business simulations
-host day long outdoor adventure treks to practice leadership skills in a more ambiguous environment

The Booth Racquets Club represents an opportunity for players of all skill levels and backgrounds to enjoy the games of squash and tennis in a friendly, yet competitive environment. Our mission is to encourage exercise and build camaraderie between classmates outside of the classroom. We welcome you to join if you would like to:

-Get introduced to the game of squash or tennis and learn from the co-chairs
-Find players of your level to play with
-Watch and enjoy tennis matches with your classmates
-Drive awareness of the game as a great exercise activity for life

-Access to weekly court time, hosted by the co-chairs (free in warm weather, subsidized indoor court time in cold weather - COVID permitting). Time will be designated for either free play or instructional drills and games for those who want to improve their game.

-Ability to play in competitive matches, both within the Booth community and with other MBA programs.

The Chicago Booth Triathlon and Running Club (CBTRC) was created to connect students who are interested in exploring Chicago through swimming, cycling, and running. The club aims to help students form lifelong relationships through athletic endeavors. The CBTRC will be open to students of all ability levels and goals. We hope to provide an alternative social outlet and a healthier lifestyle at Booth. By engaging in activities that promote wellness and fitness, the club seeks to provide a way for its members to find balance and discover new ways to overcome challenges we might face in life and work. We believe a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. All students are welcome regardless of their prior athletic experience or their future athletic goals.

Members will have the ability to participate in group runs, rides, and swims. They will be alerted to regional road races, triathlons, and adventure races. Groups will be organized to race and train together, interest permitting.
