The Adam Smith Society (SmithSoc) at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is a student-run organization that operates in conjunction with the national Adam Smith Society, a project of the Manhattan Institute. The group invites noted business luminaries to Chicago Booth's campus to speak on a variety of topics regarding entrepreneurship, free-market economics, and other relevant topics of interest to the Booth community. Additionally, members of the Adam Smith Society receive exclusive invitations to intimate dinner events with speakers and also drive the direction of speakers who are invited to campus. There are multiple chapters of the Adam Smith Society across the United States at other prestigious universities and the Society offers a strong network of current and future business leaders to help inspire Booth students to achieve their potential within the business world.

The Armed Forces Group at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is a student-run organization open to both current and former members of the US and international armed services. Our membership includes students in the Full-Time MBA program. The group's purpose is to prepare students for the recruiting process through career coaching, resume workshops, and interview preparation; Build a strong professional network of Booth alumni with previous military experience in order to expand career opportunities; Welcome new members and their families to the Chicago area through a variety of social activities; Assist prospective military candidates with the Booth application process and advocate the admission of qualified veterans; and Assist students departing the armed forces with the transition to civilian life and to ensure an understanding of veteran benefits.

The Chicago Booth Basketball Club represents an opportunity for players of all skill levels and backgrounds to enjoy the game of basketball in a friendly, yet competitive environment. We host open gym times for players of all skill levels, and offer several travel opportunities to play against other top MBA programs across the country for our more competitive members.

The Booth Outdoor Leadership Development (BOLD) Group provides experiential leadership development opportunities primarily through outdoor adventure activities. Our goal is to develop outstanding executives by providing opportunities for students to apply techniques learned indoors to outdoors contexts, to build both internal and external resilience. Using action-based learning and outdoors adventure trips, we help students hone their leadership abilities through unique activities that allow them to practice and develop skills such as interpersonal communication, teamwork, influencing, and motivation techniques. Moreover, these activities get students out of their comfort zone in where their decisions have real consequences, in a unique, supportive learning environment.

The Chicago Booth Run Bike Swim Club was created to connect students who are interested in exploring Chicago through running, cycling and swimming. The club aims to help students form lifelong relationships through athletic endeavors. The Run Bike Swim Club will be open to students of all ability levels and goals. By engaging in activities that promote wellness and fitness, the club seeks to provide a way for its members to find balance and discover new ways to overcome challenges we might face in life and work. In 2021-22, the club had over 125 members and scrimmages through all four seasons.

Matches against other University schools (e.g. Harris)

-Two weekly practices (outdoors or indoors depending on season)

The Business Solutions Group facilitates consulting engagements for MBA students with business and non-profit organizations. BSG creates teams of five first-year MBA students who participate in a competition, judged by representatives of top consulting firms, to solve a well-defined business challenge over a 10-week period in the fall. The Chicago Booth Rugby Club is a community of men and women that seeks two goals: To field a competitive rugby team and to build camaraderie amongst the team and its competitors. By providing a structured way to bring people together on a frequent basis, we hope to curate and grow a community that shares a similar passion. In addition, we hope to collaborate with existing groups at Booth to host school-wide events that can even further encourage engagement among our peers outside of the classroom setting.

Mission
The Wine Club serves as a fun open environment where members can foster a sense of community for Chicago Booth students and their significant others. We seek to educate our members on wine, beer, and spirits from a variety of perspectives.

Members are exposed to the history and business of beverage industries, etiquette, nuanced differences of beverages across the world, as well as culinary and other social events held in a myriad of settings. Gaining a better understanding of viticulture from both fellow classmates and industry experts alike, Wine Club supports members' exploration of such a vibrant industry and their accumulation of knowledge to serve them for years to come. From novices to full-fledged aficionados, Wine Club provides ample opportunity for everyone to enjoy, share their own knowledge, and learn more about many different types of libations.

With roughly 8+ events per quarter, Wine Club facilitates a diverse set of event programming for members to engage with one another and develop their palates to form a multifaceted appreciation for these fine drinks.

Wine, wine, more wine (and beer, and scotch)! We host weekly events, many of which are free for members and include a wide variety of themes - some examples from years past include Reds Versus Whites, Champagne 101 and Cognac Tastings with LVMH, the Art of Toasting with All But Champagne, Blind Tasting Contest, Malbec and Argentine Tapas, Sake and Sushi, a Macallan Scotch Whiskey event and premiere tastings with M├®doc and Chateau Palmer. To top it all off, we celebrate the past year and the coming summer with Louis Vuitton each Spring, complete with bottomless Dom P├®rignon!

Please note that our events are extremely popular so there is a no-show fine ($30/event) associated with missing events for which you RSVP'd. Members with outstanding fines will be unable to RSVP for future events until they have paid their no-show fine. This may be applied for tardiness at certain events as well (e.g., guided tastings), when punctuality is a key component of the experience.

The mission of the Yoga Club is to foster a community of mindfulness, self awareness, and a culture of healthy living through the practice of yoga. Activities may include, but are not limited to, classes led by Booth yoga teachers, workshops by Chicago-based instructors, and retreats.
