Exploring Frontiers: Leveraging Unique Strengths to Catalyze Global Growth

Emerging Markets Summit is the largest student-led emerging markets conference. Emerging Markets Summit gathers professionals from Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, Asia Pacific/China, Russia/Eastern Europe, and Middle East/North Africa for a pan-regional conference under one roof. 

The last decade came to a close with business and government leaders worldwide rethinking the future of globalization in the wake of increasing protectionism and geopolitical uncertainty. Yet, the most pressing challenges – and opportunities to overcome these challenges – we face are more global and overarching than ever before. The climate crisis threatens to wreak havoc on food supply, housing, and infrastructure. Rising inequality, coupled with low social mobility, has destabilized numerous political regimes. The rapid expansion of the digital economy has boosted access and productivity for many yet eroded well-established competitive advantages for many others.

 

With their favorable demographic outlook, thirst for innovation, and growing ability to leapfrog past old systems, emerging markets will play a critical role in tackling these global challenges, while leveraging their own unique strengths to do so. Join us at the 2020 Booth Emerging Markets Summit (EMS) as government leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, executives, and academicians from across regions and disciplines gather for a day of spirited conversation to identify these unique strengths. Through a series of global and regional panels, we hope to expand on our theme, “Emerging Frontiers: Leveraging unique strengths to catalyze global growth” with professionals from Latin America, South Asia, Asia Pacific, Middle East & North Africa on Saturday, May 9 in Chicago.

• Emerging Markets Summit Conference - A day of panels and talks: Saturday, May 9, 8am-5pm, University of Chicago Harper Center
• Post-Conference Networking Mixer - Networking event with the speakers and the attendees: Saturday, May 9, 5-6pm, University of Chicago Harper Center Winter Garden
• Resume Book: Optional to be included in the resume book. The book will be distributed to speakers and sponsors.
