Calling all wine enthusiasts! Wine Club cordially invites you to explore the legendary history behind Ornellaia - one of the most celebrated wines in the Bolgheri region in Tuscany.  Ornellaia's North America director Alessandro Lunardi will guide us through this small-group tasting via a flight of 6 wines, including a vertical tasting across 4 of Ornellaia's most iconic vintages.

About Ornellaia (Fine + Rare, March 2021):
Ornellaia is one of Italy’s most respected wineries, based in the Tuscan foothills. Neighbouring both Sassicaia and Masseto, Ornellaia is well situated in the foothills of Bolgheri. Being one of the early settlers in the region, they are one of the few producers who own vineyards in the foothills. The surrounding woodlands are protected and therefore more recent arrivals could only plant vines on the valley floor. Here there is a complex mosaic of soils ranging from marine, alluvial and volcanic soils. Intraplot management means every plot is individually assessed, picked and matured in oak for 12 months before the final blending takes place. Within one vineyard alone the four varieties, eight different rootstocks and multiple geological fault-lines provide a complex palette of expressions to choose from

About Ornellaia (Forbes, September 2023)
One cannot help when drinking the wines but to be amazed that something so refined, refreshing and stunning, wrapped in an overall quality of elegance, could have come from such nightmarish conditions. But, just like humans, wines will show what they are made of during the worst times and Le Serre Nuove has undoubtedly demonstrated that a ferocious heat wave cannot compromise its graceful quality, or even a worldwide pandemic.

This event will be a special, educational event with Ornellaia themselves presenting their wines and walking us through their vintages.
