Established in 2015, The University of Chicago Graduate China Forum has become one of the most significant student-run forums in the United States. The China Forum promotes international collaboration in business and academia by inviting distinguished leaders in academia, business, and political arenas worldwide to discuss contemporary U.S.-China issues in a global context and share their rich experiences and unique insights with the audience.

The theme of this year's forum is "Silver Lining: Seeking Collaborative Innovation amid a New Paradigm" In addition to all the online panels, an in-person reception will be held at the Gleacher Center (Midway Club) on April 27 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We've invited below speakers to hold a fireside chat with us:

Zheng Zheng: Chair of the board, Chicago Chinese American Association at Greater Chicago.

Zhengdong Huang: Founder of the Huang & Hu PC law firm, an Illinois Super Lawyer, and a distinguished legal scholar and community leader on both sides of the Pacific.

Xiaojun Hu: Founder of Lao Sze Chuan, a celebrity chef, restaurateur, culinary teacher, and community leader.

Co - founder of the HUANG & HU PC Law Firm. As a distinguished legal scholar and community leader on both sides of the Pacific, Dr. Huang has extensive experience in the areas of foreign investment, international business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, reorganization, dissolution and liquidation of foreign-invested enterprises, construction of risk prevention and control systems, labor laws, corporate, commercial, and immigration laws. Dr. Huang is a LCA Fellow of the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society and an Illinois Super Lawyer. He has also taught in a number of law schools in both China and the U.S.

Jan Zheng is Chair of the board, Chicago Chinese American Association at Greater Chicago (CAAGC). CAAGC is a non-profit, membership organization with over 140 member associations serving the Chinese Americans in great Chicago area. Her mission is to promote cultural, educational, and economic opportunities for the Chinese Americans, and promote linkages and friendships among different communities in great Chicago area. With a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Jan has worked in top 500 companies for more than two decades. Jan is a recipient of “Outstanding Woman Award” by Congressman Danny Davis of the Seventh District of Illinois; “Mayor's Award of Excellence” by City of Aurora Mayor Ricard Irvin. “1999-2019 Chinese Community Outstanding Person Award" for the 20th anniversary of Chicago China News & Digest; “Outstanding Leaders" by Mandarin Leader in North America.Jan Zheng was also recognized by City of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot during May AAHPI month in 2022 for her contribution to the promotion and development of city’s diverse cultures. In May 2023, Jan was the recipient of 12th Global Community Oscars Lincoin Service Award of Excellence.

Xiaojun (Tony) Hu

Tony (Xiaojun) Hu is a celebrity chef, restaurateur, culinary teacher, and community leader. In 1989, Tony Hu graduated from The Culinary Institute of Sichuan, the first culinary institute in China. Later in 1993, Chef Tony immigrated to the U.S. as a special technician and established himself in Chicago. Starting in 1998, Chef Tony formed Tony Gourmet Group that houses famous restaurants, including Lao Sze Chuan, Lao Beijing, Lao Shanghai, Lao You Ju Restaurant & Lounge and more recently Lao Hunan.
