Greater Chicago Food Depository

This volunteer activity supports the Greater Chicago Food Depository by helping repack donated and purchased food into manageable quantities for distribution. Volunteers sort, inspect, and box produce, bread, and dry goods to ensure food is efficiently delivered to food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters across Cook County. The role directly contributes to improving access to quality food for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

📍 Event Details & Instructions
• Location: 4100 W Ann Lurie Place, Chicago, IL 60632
• Arrival: Please arrive 15–30 minutes early. Let us know if you anticipate being late. Volunteers may join up to 20 minutes after the start time.
• Parking: Free parking is available in our lot and along Karlov Avenue and Ann Lurie Place.
• Rideshare: Drop-offs should use Karlov Avenue. Buses must park along Karlov Avenue or Ann Lurie Place.
• CTA: Pulaski Orange Line Stop is 1 mile south of the facility
• Check-In: Upon arrival, check in with a member of our Volunteer Engagement Team. You’ll then be guided to the volunteer lobby and orientation room.
• Accessibility: ADA-accessible parking and ramped sidewalks are available to the right of the main entrance, which has automatic doors. All activities and restrooms are on the ground level.
• Attire: Long pants, shirts with sleeves, and fully enclosed shoes are required.
