Pullman History and Revitalization (5/10) - Leave from Harper Center: We are planning a bus tour through Pullman with Chicago Mahogany and Sherman Dilla Thomas to learn about the history of the neighborhood. Then, we will have a lunch catered by Lexington Betty, a local restaurant, at the CNI offices in Pullman to learn about the great ongoing revitalization efforts done by them and other institutions. Lunch is included!
2. Institute for Nonviolence Chicago (INVC) (5/13) - Leave from the Loop: We are planning a visit to the Institute of Non-Violence in the West Side neighborhood of Austin to learn about their innovative approach to violence prevention through community and outreach based interventions. In addition, we will be joined by guests from the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago and other philanthropic partners supporting efforts to rapidly community violence intervention across Chicago. Lunch is included!
3. Bronzeville Winery (5/14) - Meet at the winery: We are planning a casual networking event for social impact minded people and others to get together, while inviting local small businesses to set up a small market to meet attendees and/or sell their products. Students will create new connections while supporting small businesses in Chicago. Food and Frosty Bevs are included!
