In landmark case last June 15, the US Supreme Court ruled that the 1964 Civil Rights Act protects LGBTQ+ employees from workplace discrimination on account of their sexual orientation or gender identity. This decision was hailed as a victory for the LGBTQ+ community and will have an impact on millions of people in the workforce, but there may well be legal bumps ahead. Join University of Chicago Law School Professor Randall D. Schmidt and ACLU's LGBTQ & HIV Project attorney Carolyn Wald to learn more about what protections do the current law provides for LGBTQ+ employees, how does the law differ from state to state, and what avenues can one take if one experiences discrimination in the workplace.
