Associate

McKinsey & Company

https://www.linkedin.com/in/sherry-zhuang/

I am a passionate healthcare strategist with both healthcare consulting and corporate experience. I am committed to creating a healthcare ecosystem conducive to the delivery of high-quality and accessible healthcare products and services.

I was born into a family of doctors. At an early age, I began to develop an appreciation for the ways in which healthcare made a difference to people’s lives. That early exposure substantially informed my career decisions. After graduating from college, I joined PwC’s healthcare consulting group, responsible for developing actionable strategies for government, pharmaceutical / medical device manufacturers and distributors. In that capacity, I was exposed to a variety of project types, ranging from strategic planning and operational design to M&A due diligence and management.

Hoping to better understand business execution and achieve greater impact, I moved into a commercial strategy role at AstraZeneca, a leading global pharmaceutical company. At AstraZeneca, I managed cross-functional stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and priorities, communicated ideas across different cultures, and drove projects through strategy to implementation.

I graduated summa cum laude from New York University’s Shanghai campus in 2017. As a member of the inaugural class, I played an integral role in helping to build up NYU Shanghai’s diverse community from the ground up. With a keen focus on bringing students together, I founded the school’s first Shanghainese cultural club, became a Resident Assistant, and participated in the Academic Peer Advising program. Thanks to these experiences, I became a skilled communicator, an empathetic collaborator, and a culturally sensitive and competent leader.
