The idea is simple: each Booth student gives at least $100, and the combined sum of our contributions will be granted to nonprofit organization through a democratic process - each donor will have a vote. This way, our individual contributions will be amplified to make a major impact.
This year's focus area is PREVENTING GUN VIOLENCE. You can read more about this effort in ChiBus.
NEW THIS YEAR: An anonymous donor has pledged to fully match all donations raised so that we can give out TWO grants for the first time ever! Your $100 automatically becomes $200!
Become a part of the movement and join your classmates in creating social change.
Participating Student Donors will have the opportunity to participate in a thoughtful grant-making process throughout the 2021-22 academic year, including:
*Hearing from experts about the biggest problems plaguing Chicago right now
*Developing a Theory of Change to guide grant criteria
*Having an opportunity to serve on a Due Diligence committee for grant application review
*Acquiring skills to evaluate nonprofit organizations
*In June 2022: hearing finalist organizations speak about their missions, and voting for the org that will win the grant
Don't miss out on your opportunity to help keep Chicago safe and thriving!
And once you've donated by "registering" for this event, be sure to register separately for our Nonprofit Networking Showcase on Saturday, June 18, at 4:30pm at Gleacher. Co-sponsored by the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, this is the event where you get to meet the five nonprofit finalists for GPI's 2 grants!
