About BoothEd

BoothEd's mission is to further the professional and personal interests of Booth students in the education sector. BoothEd equips our members with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to make an impact in the education sector. We do this by supporting the career searches of students in the education industry; raising awareness of opportunities and challenges in the blossoming education technology space; hosting an annual conference with speakers who work in the education sector; and supporting other events that address topics at the intersection of business and education. The group's scope spans charter school management organizations; ed-tech; education venture funds and incubators; traditional public school districts; education-related publishing and content providers; tutoring and test-prep organizations; higher education; education focused foundations; for-profit education companies; and education service providers.

In 2023 - 2024, BoothEd hopes to have a particular focus on the Education Technology industry and address the following four focus areas.

Focus Areas:

1. Education Awareness

What are the most prescient issues? How did they come to be? What efforts are being made to rectify these issues? What are the emerging trends?

2. Careers in Education post-MBA & Networking with Employers

What job opportunities are available to MBAs in the education field in teh short term and long term?

3. Volunteering in Chicago

Overview The University of Chicago Booth School of Business is hosting the sixth Chicago Booth Education Management Conference, a key convening of education leaders, professionals, and graduate students on May 07, 2025, at Harper Center. The Conference is an opportunity for students and professionals alike to delve into current challenges and exciting trends in education, engage with emerging and ongoing academic research, and apply innovative business management principles to the education space. Through panels, workshops, keynotes, and networking conversations, we seek to create a forum for leaders to connect and transform the education landscape in Chicago and beyond.
