Dr. Richard Curtis is a professor at Virginia Tech after retiring from the Navy as Master Chief Petty Officer. Dr. Curtis served aboard six different ballistic missile submarines with his last tour as Chief of the Boat (COB) onboard the USS Rhode Island, served as the Command Master Chief (CMC) of the VFA-136 KNIGHTHAWKS F-18 squadron on the USS Enterprise for her final combat deployment, and in addition to various other assignments he served his final tour as the 18th Director of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA).
