About Us

Chicago Booth Muslims in Business (MiB) supports Muslim students across their personal, professional, and spiritual lives — three things business school rarely asks you to hold at once. We exist because Muslim students before us decided Booth should be a place where you don't have to choose. Each class inherits what the last one built, such as the iftars, the prayer space, the alumni relationships, and hands over something stronger. That's the work. Member Benefits

MiB is where Muslim students at Booth can be fully themselves — professionally ambitious and grounded in faith. We host the meetings, discussions, and holiday celebrations to make that possible, from Ramadan iftaars to Eid. We also build bridges across the wider Booth and Chicago communities. Lunch-and-learns, alumni panels, lectures, and cultural workshops give Muslims and non-Muslims alike a window into the role of Islam in business. Our events are open to every Boothie.

Community

Find your people at Booth. MiB hosts everything from potluck dinners to chai talks, and during Ramadan you'll break your fast alongside classmates instead of alone in your apartment. We also eat our way through Chicago's Middle Eastern and South Asian restaurants, a real perk in one of the best food cities in the world.

Professional Development

Your network should extend well past graduation. We pair members with Muslim alumni in their target industries for mentorship and recruiting support, and we open doors through joint programming with Northwestern Kellogg, Muppies, and the annual Muslims in Business Conference. The people who came before you want to help, and we make the introduction.

Cultural Awareness and Education

We bring Muslim voices to the center of campus life. MiB hosts Booth's Eid festival to close out Ramadan, partners with other faith communities to build interfaith dialogue, and invites leading Muslim thinkers, including Booth's very own Professor Amir Sufi, to speak on the contributions Muslims have made to business.
