Show synopsis (via Chicago Shakespeare Theater): Aspiring songwriter Vy disguises herself to break into the inner circle of a famous 1930s Harlem bandleader, only for her plan to unravel when she falls for the club's star singer. Expect mistaken identities, swinging romance, and Ellington classics like "It Don't Mean a Thing" and "I'm Beginning to See the Light." The three-time Tony-nominated musical is staged by its original creator, Sheldon Epps, with a 15-person cast bringing the big band energy to life.

Join SAC's Inclusion & Cultural Connections (ICC) board for the 40th annual Dia de Muertos exhibition at the National Museum of Mexican Art. This year's exhibit traces 40 years of Day of the Dead traditions through the museum's Permanent Collection, honoring Dr. Gilberto Cardenas, a pioneer of Chicano Studies. Highlights include the Courtyard installations by youth artists from Yollocalli Arts Reach, and the community ofrenda, where visitors can add a note or memory honoring a loved one. We will also tour the full permanent collection. Plan for about one hour at the museum. Afterward, we will head to dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Pilsen (location TBD). Meet at the museum at 3:00 PM, or plan to carpool from Gleacher beforehand. Partners and children are welcome to join for the museum, dinner, or both. Please register the number of people you plan to bring with you so we can plan accordingly. Entrance to the museum is free.
